Two of the ten are styles rather than looks. Realistic and Anime describe how a character is rendered, and any other type can exist in either style once you build your own. The remaining eight are shelves of Platform Models grouped by appearance (Asian, Latina, Korean, Goth; the Asian AI girlfriend guide covers the Asian and Korean shelves and how to build a Japanese character), by age bracket (MILF and College, both adults), by personality preset (Femdom) or by orientation (Lesbian).
How the AI girlfriend types work
A type page is a curated shelf. Swipey picks Platform Models that share a look or a personality and lists them together, so you do not have to scroll the whole feed to find, say, a goth character. Tap one and you land in her chat.
What you can do from there depends on your plan. Basic chat with Platform Models is free, and so is browsing the shelves, the feed and the models gallery. Relationship progression, the ten levels that open new sides of her personality and drop reward videos, needs Premium at $7.99 a month. So do voice calls, video scenes and full image generation.
Your own Custom AI sits outside the list entirely. In Create AI you set style, body type, hair, eyes, skin tone, outfit, personality mix and voice, then a location and a scenario, and since 20 August 2026 a kink selection step with tiered progression. Every attribute stays adjustable in Edit My AI. If you want a Korean goth character with a nurturing streak, no shelf holds her, but the builder does. Create AI takes under two minutes.

What every type shares
Whichever shelf you start from, the character comes with the same feature set. Persistent memory with Memory cards keeps your shared history across sessions and devices. Character-consistent images keep her face the same from chat to selfie to video. Voice calls and voice messages are there for Premium members, and after a call a Memory card records the conversation. Video scenes run up to 60 seconds. Group Chat, which shipped on 27 August 2026, lets you put two or three characters in one thread, including your own Custom AI, with a location and scenario for the scene.
A practical way to browse
Start with the shelf closest to what you want, then widen out. The type pages are quick to scan because each card is one character, while the feed mixes Platform Models, Verified Creator Models, Short Drama episodes and long-video collages in one stream. Tapping a card opens the chat, and the character sends a welcome photo when you arrive, so you see her rendered before you type a word.
Signing up takes an email address, a Google account or a magic link, and new accounts receive free hearts. Swipey runs in the browser on any device; the Install App banner, shipped 27 August 2026, adds a home-screen icon without an app store. If two shelves both appeal, remember that you can chat with several Platform Models and build more than one Custom AI, so the choice is not exclusive.
Adults only, and disclosed as AI
Every companion on Swipey is an adult. The College type is labelled 18+ on its own page, and the platform as a whole requires users to be 18 or over, with a full age-verification step in some regions such as the UK. Each character is clearly disclosed as AI, in line with the New York and California companion-chatbot rules that Swipey implemented on 2 September 2026.
Verified Creator Models, the third companion type on Swipey alongside Platform Models and Custom AI, are real creators who pass KYC and sign a model release before their AI companion goes live. They appear in the feed and behind Fanclubs rather than on the type shelves; SwipeyClub covers that side of the platform.
